Our active shooter response training is specifically focused around the actions an unarmed person can take to minimize their risk of serious injury during an active shooter incident.
Instead of simply covering case studies, we focus on the information learned from these past incidents. What has been proven to work.
Our team has had unique access to speak personally with surviving victims and the law enforcement officers who responded to the most widely recognized active shooter events. These opportunities give us unique insights into the lessons learned. Our presentations are constantly updated and are customized to be the most relevant for our audience. This will greatly increase the number of trained observers recognizing that criminal activity is about to take place and knowing how to respond. We empower everyone in our training with the knowledge to be part of the solution.
Active Shooter scenarios is a frightening subject. Our Prepared Response Training program builds confidence and empowers people. We focus on avoidance and awareness in addition to practical response options.
Are your floor monitors and floor wardens ready to respond? These on-site employees are your immediate responders during an emergency. They can make the biggest difference in saving lives and minimizing damage. Our goal is to provide them the confidence and knowledge so they can be the “calm in the storm”.
This Training will cover:
Training may include table-top exercises and scenarios where students can work through simulated incidents and then receive guidance from instructors.
Options also include preparing, training and equipping the QRT members with all hazard backpacks. Fully loaded and ready to deploy. Essential items necessary for effective response.
The average armed security officer does not have sufficient, or frequent enough training to effectively neutralize an active threat under the typical active shooter ‘combat’ conditions. Given current training standards, they might lack confidence, injure an innocent bystander, or get themselves killed. Mindset is also critical in this type of combat situation, and the armed security officer may not be able to act when needed.
When asked, most security officers do not know what they are supposed to do during a critical incident where people are looking to them for help and guidance. Most armed security professionals have attended minimal firearms training where only the required number of bullets are fired. This could be as little as fifty rounds shot per year. Many are also not familiar with the relevant ballistic properties and the accountability of each round that is fired.
Training security officers is very different than training police and military members. Law enforcement officers have the benefit of a three to six-month law enforcement academy versus the armed security officer having eight to forty hours of training. We work alongside security officers and have a training approach that works. Security should be the most valuable asset during critical incidents and our training focus is to make sure that is the case.
Our instructors specialize in active shooter response and reality based training. We focus on the relevant skills necessary to be prepared to deter, detect and defend during a hostile incident. Our instructors are current and former law enforcement officers, and military members. Furthermore, they have been recognized as some of the very best at what they do. Special forces members in the military. SWAT and special operations division in the police department. Our police officer instructors are the same ones designated by their respective police departments to conduct active shooter response training on behalf of the police department.
We focus on the armed and unarmed response options. A firearm is not always the answer. It is important for armed security to understand the circumstances where a firearm can make a difference and times where the gun should remain holstered.
Our combat shooting training prepares armed security to overcome the adrenaline rush, fear, tunnel vision, panic and confusion which are present during an active shooter incident.
We include training on:
Our training program is based around standards, guidelines, best practices and lessons learned.
If live-fire firearms training is not possible for armed security officers, we have alternate options. To include: Simunition (non-lethal paint rounds), airsoft (force on force training) and firearm dry fire. Training program is designed to build confidence and a solid foundation of skills.
